A San Benito man was taken into custody over the weekend. The arrest was made on Saturday afternoon and occurred without incident. The man, Jesus Estaban Escovar, was wanted on charges related to child sex crimes.

The Cameron County Sheriff's Office had previously issued a wanted alert for Escovar. This alert was sent out on Friday, prior to the arrest. The charges against Escovar include aggravated sexual assault.
