Cameron County Property Tax: Due Dates & How to Pay (2026)

When property taxes are due for Brownsville homeowners and where to handle your bill, from official Cameron County sources. Updated July 2026.

Texas property tax bills are due on receipt, and Cameron County taxes must be paid in full on or before January 31 to avoid penalty and interest; a 7% penalty and interest is added once accounts go delinquent. Payments are accepted at any county tax office location or by mail to the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector in Brownsville.
